Last Saturday afternoon, after taking in a movie at Central Ybor, my wife and I chose to dine at Streetcar Charlies. We were promptly seated by a window in a room that faced the corners of 15th and 8th. From there we caught a great view of the diverse crowd of people preparing to patronizing the Ybor evening scene.
The menu was interesting, with many special salads, burgers, steaks and such. My wife decided on the Spinach Mango salad for $9. The brisket burger, with caramelized onions and fries sounded good to me. We each ordered water, but I changed to Sierra Mist for more flavor. The soda was slightly flat. The meal took about 15 minutes to make it to our table. The Spinach Salad was served on a 10" bowl plate and consisted of spinach leaves, 2 slices of tomato, a slice of mango on the top and feta cheese. The dressing was a walnut raspberry vinaigrette. Over priced, by good. The brisket burger with caramelized onions ok. The bun was plain and did not handle the sauce on the burger and eventually fell apart half way through. It was pricey at $10. With a $10 coupon gift certificate from Restaurant.com, we left spending under $25. The service was good and prompt.
