MTT conducts music from Peer Gynt
Ibsen asked Grieg to compose music for Peer Gynt, his dramatic poem about a very bad boy and his redemption through the love of a very good woman. Grieg crafted a passel of expressive themes that have gained worldwide fame through his short orchestral suite. The SFS, soloists, and Chorus perform extended selections from the thrilling, rarely-heard full score with staging, evocative lighting, and dramatic elements.
